1 day to our date with France

Kaka, Emerson cleared for Brazil trainingBrazilian midfielders Emerson and Kaka, who have been treated for pain in their right knees, will take part in Friday’s practice at the Waldstadion, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) said. “They’re ready for training on the pitch,” the CBF said in a statement. Both suffered identical injuries during Tuesday’s 3-0 second round win over Ghana, were substituted and have since been undergoing intensive physiotherapy. Brazil’s other worry for Saturday’s quarter-final against France is striker Robinho, who missed the Ghana game because of a problem in his right thigh. Robinho has been steadily improving and took part in training on Thursday, although he sat out penalty practice at the end. Kak? arrived for training?on Friday and declared that he is ready to play against France in their quarter-final fixture. Read here : Juninho & Gilberto to start?Brazil hopes France match finally opens room to playBrazil is glad to face a soccer powerhouse for the first time at this year’s World Cup. Brazil will play France on Saturday in the quarterfinals, hoping to take advantage of an adversary that won’t be afraid and isn’t likely to come out playing defensively from the start. “A team like France likes to play, too. It will be an open match and that could be good for us,” midfielder Gilberto Silva said. “It won’t be a match in which a team only tries to play defense … France will want to win the match, too.” Brazil struggled when it faced the less traditional teams of Croatia, Australia, Japan and Ghana. The Brazilians won the matches but had trouble getting past the tough marking imposed by the opponents. Only against Japan, which needed to win to keep its hopes of advancing to the second round alive, Brazil was able to display the beautiful game fans expect from the five-time champions. With France also likely trying to play offensively, Brazil expects to have more spaces and an easier time creating scoring opportunities. “It’s a classic. We have a lot of respect for them and they have a lot of respect for us,” defender Juan said. “It’s a different game. It should be very even.” France has won two of the three World Cup matches against Brazil, including 3-0 in the 1998 final at Stade de France. Brazil’s only win came in the 1958 tournament in Sweden, a 5-2 victory behind Pele’s hat trick. The French eliminated Brazil in the quarterfinals of the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, winning on penalty kicks. “This should be our toughest match so far,” said midfielder Juninho, who plays for five-time French champion Lyon. “They play with a lot of solidarity, the players are always helping each other.” Brazil is not expecting to pay extra attention to France midfielder Zinedine Zidane, who scored twice in the 1998 final and has been key in France’s campaign this year. “I don’t think (coach Carlos Alberto) Parreira will do anything especial to mark Zidane,” midfielder Ze Roberto said. “Especially because if you do that, then you leave others like (Thierry) Henry or (Patrick) Viera free.” Two-time FIFA player of the year Ronaldinho agreed. “All of their players are great,” he said. “From the goalkeeper to the strikers, they are all well-known internationally. They all have experience.” Brazil and France played two other times since the 1998 final, with France winning 2-1 in the 2001 Confederations Cup in South Korea and then playing Brazil to a 0-0 draw in a friendly in Paris in 2004. E ALLORA CACAO? SI!!!

BREAKING NEWS : Emerson, Kaka concern BrazilKaka receiving treatment (can you spot me with scuba diving gear below?)* Brazil emerged from the tough second-round win over Ghana with an injury list that is worrying team doctors ahead of Sunday’s (AEST) quarter-final with France.Regular starters Emerson and Kaka top the list while striker Robinho is still being treated for a muscle injury and defender Lucio isn’t 100 percent. “We are on alert because of Kaka and Emerson,” said Brazil doctor Jose Luiz Runco overnight. “They wouldn’t play if the match was today.” Runco said both sustained ankle and knee injuries against the Ghanaians, who played hard from the start. Emerson had to be replaced at half-time and Kaka came off in the 83rd minute. “They are under observation and being treated full-time with physiotherapy,” said Runco. “It will depend on how they improve, they might not be able to practice tomorrow.” He said it is too early to known whether they will recover in time for the Frankfurt game. Lucio is being treated for a thigh injury, but his condition is not as serious, said Runco. Robinho, who missed the Ghana match, returned to training overnight and is recovering well, said Runco, adding it still isn’t clear whether he will be fit to face France. “I’m getting better little by little,” said Robinho. “Hopefully I’ll be 100 percent ready on Saturday to help the team.” ?In the case of the Kak?, it is nothing very serious. Emerson’s problem is more complicated?, he added. He is not a doctor or anything, but having spent four days with them, must have heard or learnt of such things.”Uhh right there ain’t no Caroline to give me this massage!”. :( Just when you thought it’s over….Real Madrid presidential candidate Ramon Calderon claimed on Wednesday that he will bring Dutch winger Arjen Robben and Brazilian midfielder Kaka to the club if he wins the election on July 2.Robben’s club Chelsea immediately dismissed the suggestion while Kaka last week signed a contract extension with AC Milan until 2011. Despite that, Calderon told a news conference ”I have no doubt Kaka is going to play at Real Madrid and I am delighted he is coming,” .”Robben has also signed a contract with this candidacy.”Chelsea dismissed his words on their Web site: “The club totally refutes statements made by Calderon linking Robben with a move to Real Madrid.”Chelsea would like to make it clear that we have not spoken to Calderon or any of his representatives and categorically deny the suggestion that an agreement on any level has been reached.”Robben, 22, has been at Chelsea since 2004 and was a part of the Dutch squad who were knocked out of the World Cup finals by Portugal at the last 16 stage. Kaka, 24, is in the Brazil squad who will face France in the World Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.Calderon is one of five candidates standing in the Real election which was called after the board ousted Fernando Martin in April. The election campaign has been characterised by claims from candidates to have secured various coaches and players, to swing voters. Florentino Perez famously won the 2000 election with the promise to buy Barcelona’s Luis Figo. Perez quit in February.Selecao Videos TodayRobinho/Kaka/Emerson getting treatment [Download]

    3-0 BABY!!!

What a win, BRASIL!Ronnie, can I bite your singlet plz!Ronaldo became the highest scorer in World Cup finals history as Brazil beat Ghana to book a quarter-final place against Spain or France. The 29-year-old took just five minutes to go past Gerd Muller?s tally of 14, latching on to Kaka?s through ball and rounding Richard Kingson to slot home. Adriano tapped in Cafu?s cross and Ze Roberto ran through to wrap it up while Ghana?s Asamoah Gyan was sent off. John Mensah had the Africans? best chance, but Dida saved his header. The scoreline was perhaps a touch harsh on Ghana, who recovered from a horror start to match their more illustrious opponents. It was a start made more remarkable by the African side?s defensive naivety than Brazil?s attacking prowess, as twice in five minutes they got caught out at the back. The first time they were saved by a flag incorrectly ruling Ronaldo offside, the second time they pushed up and allowed Kaka to feed in Ronaldo, who shimmied past Kingson and slotted in. After all the criticism, it was yet another record-breaking goal for the peerless Real Madrid man. Still Ghana failed to learn. Ze Roberto found Adriano in acres of space only for the striker to fluff his lines, trying to round Kingson but falling to the floor and being booked for a dive. Brazil began strolling – if they needed a reminder they were in a game Matthew Amoah?s 20-yard drive that flew just wide should have done the trick. But it did not seem to, as Amoah shot straight at Dida and then Gyan turned Lucio superbly before rifling over on the stretch from 12 yards. Two minutes before half-time, they had a golden chance to level. Mensah rose unchallenged from a corner, but to Ghana?s dismay his bullet header struck Dida?s leg and bounced away from danger. Just before the break they were p unished when Brazil launched a quick counter-attack and Cafu crossed for a seemingly offside Adriano to bundle home.Ghana?s misery was compounded when substitute Ricardinho floated a ball over the top and Ze Roberto flicked it past Kingson, ran round him and rolled into an empty net. The defending champions are slowly but surely clicking into gear at this World Cup finals.? The match to Kaka… The goals came from Ronaldo and Adriano. The magic came from Kaka. Kaka, part of a four-man attack called the “magic quartet” by coach Carlos Alberto Parreira, played a part in two goals Tuesday to help Brazil to a 3-0 win over Ghana in the second round of the World Cup. Despite another below-par performance, Brazil advanced to the quarterfinals for the fourth straight time. “In the first half I think we made a few mistakes on passes,” Kaka said. “But in the second half we sorted this out, got quite a bit better at getting our balls out and this was very important.” Kaka, an AC Milan midfielder, first set up Ronaldo for his 15th World Cup goal _ which made him the tournament’s all-time leading scorer. In the fifth minute, Kaka threaded a pass through a group of defenders to Ronaldo, who tapped the ball in with the outside of his right foot. Kaka later set up Adriano in first-half injury time. Lucio started the play at midfield, giving the ball to Kaka, who then found Cafu on the right side. Adriano used his left thigh to complete Cafu’s right-flank cross. Parreira is still expecting more from the “magic quartet,” which also includes Ronaldinho. “I drew the attention of my players at halftime because we made many mistakes. … We made many mistakes because we hurried the ball,” Parreira said. “In the second half, after the first 15 minutes, we improved and balanced out.” The 24-year-old Kaka, who scored a goal against Croatia in the 1-0 win in the first round, said he wasn’t worried that Ronaldinho had failed, yet again, to score in this year’s World Cup. He’s the only one of the four without a goal. “People try to do tricks during the match,” Kaka said. “Sometimes it works, other times not. But we try to talk about things, to make them work out.” Kaka was replaced by Ricardinho in the 83rd minute. Parreira said his decision to substitute players was to win matches. “We create opportunities. As the World Cup develops, it channels into a different stage and it’s important players who replace others play well,” Parreira said. “Because we don’t play with 11. We finished with 14.” Kaka, who played as a substitute at the last World Cup four years ago, was pleased with the team’s victory over the African team. “Today the result was very good. I think we played well,” Kaka said. “We’re getting better. This was another game and now we have to look forward to the quarterfinals.”Kaka and Lucio injuries not serious : Brazil doctorEmerson and Kak?, substituted during the game against Ghana?after feeling?pains in their leg. The same happened with L?cio,?who also felt pains, but did not leave the field. ?Emerson suffered a collision?but there’s no need for further examinations?,?said the doctor, complementing that the injuries of Kak? and L?cio were also of the same case.Kak? explained that his injury was caused by a strong tackle by a Ghana player. ?His leg came into contact with my?knee and the ankle. Throughout the?game it was quite painful, now that it has cooled, it is aching a little. But it does not seem?to be anything?serious?, declared the player .For Kak?, the main?error of the?team was the delay in exchanging of passes. ?This delayed our game, but in the second?half it improved?. Kaka’s grandmother unhappy with his substituition (LMFAO)Kaka’s grandmother, Dona Vera, commemorated the participation of?her famous grandson in the?game.?She placed a bet that Brazil would win 2-1. She lost the bet with?her friends, but was very happy. ?In the start, the team kind of suffered. But they won three zero! ?, she said. ?The only thing that wasn’t good was to?take?my grandson off.?? When Juninho Pernambucano threatened to enter the field, Kaka still remained in the field. Kaka’s aunt, Michelle Veiga wanted to see Ghana score because she had placed a bet that the match would end 3-1. Both his aunt and grandmother wanted to see Kaka score a goal. His grandmother said she spoke to Kaka on the phone before the game and said that he was very optimistic for the game. “I prayed for him.. and he is always happy” she said. SUP GHANA?

Match ReminderBrazil VS Ghana17:00UKDortmundFOR?A KAKA, FOR?A BRASIL!!!!Favorites Brazil meet Ghana laterGhana is the only one of the five African nations to have made it to the second round of play at the World Cup in Germany. VOA Sports Editor Parke Brewer reports the so-called Black Stars are set to take on reigning World Champion Brazil. Brazil is a five-time World Cup champion and ranked number-one in the world. Ghana is playing in its first-ever World Cup and is ranked 48th.So you would think the Ghanaians would have little chance. But playing in perhaps the toughest group here at the tournament in Germany, Ghana defeated the second ranked Czech Republic and the fifth-ranked United States to earn a second round berth.Ghana’s Serbian coach Ratomir Dujkovic says his players are fearless. “We will try,” said Ratomir Dujkovic. “We don’t have anything to lose. And our guys, the Black Stars team, have the capability enough to face Brazil, and they are not afraid of Brazil. So it will be a nice game. You will enjoy it.”Ghana captain Stephen Appiah agrees with his coach.”We are happy that we are going to meet Brazil, and [we have] no fear, no fear,” said Stephen Appiah. “I think its going to be an interesting game.” Ghana will have to play the match in Dortmund without star midfielder Michael Essien. He is suspended for accumulating two yellow cards in the first round. The winner of the Ghana-Brazil match will play in the quarterfinals against the winner of Tuesdays late match between France and Spain. Brazilian kid coming of age as he starts to take centre stage FROM the moment Kaka slammed home Brazil’s winner in their World Cup opener against Croatia he’s been the most prominent Samba star on show. The AC Milan midfielder has gone from the periphery of the team to the orchestrator in chief for Carlos Alberto Parreira’s outfit. Even as the 24-year-old busies himself pulling the strings for the holders he gives the impression he’s playing out a boyhood dream to get the chance to perform alongside his more esteemed colleagues. But Germany 2006 is fast emerging as the competition where Kaka has come of age as he takes his place among the instantly-recognisable faces of football’s royalty. He said: “Personally, I must say that I am enjoying this World Cup immensely. It really is like a dream for me. “This is one of the biggest things in my life to be playing in this, the biggest tournament in the world with the yellow shirt on my back. “It is the thrill of a lifetime for me, the biggest thing in the world, and I am enjoying it so much.” Four years ago in Japan where Brazil notched up a historic fifth World Cup title, Kaka was restricted to just one appearance but he’s now relishing the chance to take centre stage. The playmaker was one of only five players from Parreira’s first picks who was retained for Brazil’s third and final group match against Japan. It was to be the game where we finally had the chance to see the South Americans burst into life after an unconvincing start and Kaka believes there’s a lot more to come. He said: “It’s important we keep improving. It was a great game for us. I think we can see now that the team is improving with every game. “It was a really important thing to come back from a goal down – the first goal we’ve conceded so far at these finals – and we are motivated for the next games. We will hope to keep improving.” The next hurdle Brazil will face comes against Ghana today when Africa’s last remaining side attempt to continue their impressive form. A mixture of steel and skill saw them emerge from a group containing the USA, Czech Republic and Italy. Kaka is more than aware of the task which awaits his side but he’s adamant the policy of his manager in making sure each member of the 23-man squad gets a taste of the action will pay off. He said: “Changing players around can only be good for the team and for future games in the World Cup. “The new players who came in against Japan played so well. Parreira has a plan and now the players who had not played before have some experience on the field. That can only be good for the team as we move ahead.” For many observers, Brazil are on an inevitable journey towards an unprecedented sixth World Cup crown and Kaka is aware of the weight of expectation his side have to bare. Despite failing to illuminate the tournament as brightly as many had predicted, there is still that air of invincibility about their displays which has rubber-stamped their favourites’ tag. Kaka though prefers to distance himself from the hype and has a more humble philosophy about the best way to make sure they continue in their quest to get their hands on the trophy. He said: “It’s all about taking it one game at a time. For the people back home, of course they always expect us to win and we do our best to try to give them that gift. “But for us, the players, we don’t dream about the trophy because we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves. “In one sense, all we think about is being the champions of the world and holding that trophy – but you don’t do that by believing you’re already the best.” The names of the most illustrious players to have worn the famous yellow strip seem to trip off the tongue. From Pele right through to Ronaldo but after the evidence of events in Germany we have another who’s discarded the usual practice of having a first name. Kaka may be about to join them and the midfielder is in a hurry to make sure he’s deserving of his placeKak? cannot wait to confront GhanaKaka does not have good memories in the last encounter he had against Ghana. In 2001, in the Under 21 Championships in Argentina, the Brazilian team were eliminated by the Africans 2-1.”That defeat was unfair. I don’t have good memories of tha game. I wait for this time to be different” said Kaka. Videos TodayI don’t have time to add videos today, but I will add some great ones tomorrow (along with the match report). Thanks, and have fun watching Brazil!. Sources : O Popular, AP, Daily Record

GO BRASIL! IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY! ;)

Brazil improving with every game, says Kaka Brazil are improving with every game in this World Cup and coach Carlos Alberto Parreira’s strategy of giving nearly everyone of the 23-man squad, a chance to play is certainly going to benefit the team, midfielder Kaka said. “Changing players around can only be good for the team and for future games in the World Cup,” the AC Milan star, one of Brazil’s famed ‘magic quartet’, said. Brazil fielded five reserve players in their last group match against Japan in Dortmund on Thursday. Two of them — Juninho and Gilberto — scored a goal each in the 4-1 win. “The new players who came in against Japan played so well, it was an amazing thing to see. But we always had faith in them. Parreira has a plan and now the players who had not played before have some experience on the field. That can only be good for the team as we move ahead.” Talking about the Japan match, Kaka said, “It was a great game for us. I think we can see now that the team is improving with every game. It was a really important thing to come back from a goal down – the first goal we’ve conceded so far at these finals – and we are motivated for the next games. We will hope to keep improving.” As Brazil prepares for a second-round encounter with Ghana tomorrow, the 24-year-old feels the huge expectation from the fans would not be a burden as the players are sticking to the mantra of “taking one game at a time” . “For the people back home, of course they always expect us to win and we do our best to try to give them that gift … but for us, the players, we don’t dream about the trophy because we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves.” Players receive messages at camp”Dude, I’ve been holding this since forever” On Saturday, the Brazilian players received messages of encouragement from the professors and pupils from 2 schools in Rio De Janiero and Saint Maria. The messages arrived at the Lerbach Castle, in Germany, with much sincerity from the children, and moved the players of the Brazilian squad. The letters, cards, posters and even goblets, made with by the boys and girls of primary schools of diverse cities of Brazil, were filled with messages of affection and one main message: to bring the World Cup home. The trainer Carlos Alberto Parreira is also touched with the efforts of the children. He made the players read the messages and discussed it during meetings with the team. Captain Cafu, on behalf of his friends, including Kaka were impressed and thanked he children.”We promise to fight and give our all in the field so as to not disappoint them. These children deserve all our effort” said Cafu. Roberto Carlos also was proud upon knowing that so he is well liked by the children, as proven in the many letters that he received. “I will think about this (the cards and words of encouragement) when I enter the field wearing the Brazilian shirt. I cannot thank each and every one of these children but I have the obligation to play well so they can be joyful when they see us on the pitch”. Kaka and Ronaldinho in the World CupIn this World Cup, the two stars of the squad - Brazil and Ronaldinho, started differently. Kak?, who was a substitute in Korea/Japan 2002, presented itself to the Brazilian camp in Weggis, fully concentrated and was the best player in the team against Croatia, when he scored a beautiful goal. “I know about my responsibility to the team.  I know also that this World Cup is very important for my career and for my future in the Brazilian team”, said Kak?. “I do not feel pressured to give a show.  I am here to help the team. As regards to the fact that I haven’t score, I find that I will in time to come” said Ronaldinho, who scored his last goal for Brazil in the finals of the Confederations Cup, against Argentinia ( which they won 4-1), in June 2005.  Another coincidence that occurs in both Ronaldinho and Kaka is that the two have been given different tasks that are not usual in their clubs. “My function here in the Brazilian team is to distribute the game..arm the team in midfield.. give rhythm to our play. I am happy if I pass the ball to attackers and they score. In Barcelona, I spend a lot of my time in the field on the left..” explained Ronaldinho.”In Milan, my position is directly behind the attackers.  Here in the Brazilian team I play more on the right. I do not have any preferences, it’s a question of readjusting”, added Kak?.  Selecao Videos TodayVideo of Brazilian team training today [Download]Updated >> Kaka’s Blog, GallerySources : Hindu (India), AP, AFP

The teams will meet in Dortmund for a spot in the quarterfinals of the World Cup. “We know they have a team very strong physically, they mark very hard,” two-time FIFA player of the year Ronaldinho said Saturday. “We’ll have to find ways to move around and escape that type of defense.” Ghana committed 76 fouls in its three first-round matches, the most by any of the 32 teams. Brazil committed 35, the fewest among all nations. “They play very aggressively,” Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira said. “We have seen the statistics and I hope the referees are able to curb this, especially to protect the soccer played with quality.” Ghana players have received 12 yellow cards thus far, second only to Tunisia. Brazil struggled when it faced physical opponents similar to Ghana, picking up shaky wins against Croatia and Australia. Parreira said Ghana is the “biggest surprise of the World Cup” so far. “It’s a team that needs to be respected, it made three good games in a very difficult group,” he said. “It eliminated the Czech Republic, which was one of the favorites to advance to the next round.” Selecao Videos Today1. Kaka to change positions at Milan.AC Milan will advance Brazil midfielder Kaka’ into a striking role and make teenage French signing Yohann Gourcuff playmaker next season, Chairman Silvio Berlusconi said on Friday .Berlusconi said Kaka’ – who on Friday extended his contract with Milan until 2011 – would play alongside Italy striker Alberto Gilardino .The forward role would exploit Kaka’s scoring potential, Berlusconi said .By extending his contract, Kaka’ scotched persistent rumours linking him to Real Madrid .The 24-year-old Brazil star has scored 31 goals in Serie A and 11 in the Champions League in his three seasons with Milan .Gourcuff’s club Stade Rennes on Thursday announced the 19-year-old’s move to Milan but did not give details of the fee or contract .A French under-21 stand-out who has been cast as heir to France great Zinedine Zidane, Gourcuff had been linked to several European clubs .Kaka nice to the press… againKaka’s arrival?at the Brazilian camp in?Lerbach Castle on Friday was marked?with some confusion. A security representative from the hotel told reporters that Kaka stopped to talk to the press on his way back. This caused a small crowd problem and the police was called in to take care of the situation. (LMAO)Updated >> Kaka’s Blog, Graphics.?Important Issue to Address This is an issue that has been around for a long time, and it’s about time we started talking about it.I know?some of you seem to have a problem with Caroline (and in case you are living under a rock, Ricky IS married to a lovely girl named Caroline). And earlier today, there were a few things that were said on the tagboard about her, very unpleasant things.?Please make this clear,?this site will NOT TOLERATE anymore of such actions. This has been going on for the longest time.?Honestly, what do you gain from saying such things about her?. She hasn’t done anything wrong, hasn’t insulted you, for God’s sake, you don’t even fucking?know her. Respect the fact that she’s married to your favorite footballer, they are meant for each other, IT’S JUST?A FACT.?Seriously, how would you feel if?someone you didn’t know said bad things about you?.?You aren’t a true Kaka?fan if you cannot respect?anything or everything he?stands up for or believes in, in this case, his own wife. Hate to break it to you mate, but at the rate you’re going, Kaka himself will probably?be disgusted by your words. If you dislike her, I totally respect it that you don’t make it such a big deal. It’s your opinion anyway, but?telling the whole world?is just low. FORCA BRASIL!!!!!!

Ronaldo Back for Brazil in a 4-1 winHELL YEAH!The spotlight was back on Ronaldo, and this time he shined. After a lackluster World Cup start, Ronaldo scored two goals Thursday night to lead Brazil to a 4-1 victory over Japan at Dortmund, Germany, to clinch first place in Group F. “I have complete knowledge of my possibilities, of my condition,” Ronaldo said. “I knew I arrived at a level below my teammates, and that I would have to work really hard to reach them.”Ronaldo arrived for the World Cup overweight and was heavily criticized after the sluggish performances in the early games. The goals moved Ronaldo into a tie with Gerd Mueller of West Germany for the most goals in World Cup history with 14. Ronaldo said he never had a doubt he would regain his scoring touch.Thursday, Ronaldo finally appeared close to top form. He tied the score at 1-1 with a header a minute into first-half injury time, moving past Pele as Brazil’s all-time leading World Cup scorer. He was set up by Real Madrid teammate Cicinho, who sent him the ball with a header across the area.Ronaldo scored his second goal in the 81st minute, with a right-footer near the top of the box after a setup by defender Juan.”Ronaldo is back,” Brazil Coach Carlos Alberto Parreira said. “We believe he’s special. We must have confidence in our football, and today we played more like Brazilians, we kept the ball for longer periods.” With its second-round berth already secured, Brazil fielded five reserve players and got goals from two of them, Juninho and Gilberto. But it was Ronaldo who was the star in Brazil’s record 10th consecutive World Cup victory.”I’m very happy with my performance, with the two goals and with Brazil’s victory,” he said. “Now it’s time to rest and think about the round of 16.”Brazil will play Ghana in the second round Tuesday back in Dortmund. Japan is headed back home after finishing last in the group with one point, failing to repeat its second-round appearance from when it was co-host of the 2002 tournament.Sup ball, come to mamaaa!Good news for Milan fans…Brazil midfielder Kaka has put an end to speculation about his future by putting pen-to-paper on a new five-year deal at Milan. The graceful performer, who has arguably been his country’s most consistent performer at the World Cup thus far, had reportedly been a target of Real Madrid. With Ronaldo, Robinho, Roberto Carlos and Cicinho already in the Spanish capital there had been talk that Kaka was ready to link-up with his compatriots in La Liga. He has, though, now concurred on fresh terms with Milan despite the fact they are one of the clubs embroiled in the match-fixing scandal that has tarnished the Italian game. Kaka is widely regarded to be one of the world’s best players as despite his tender years he is a mainstay for both Milan and Brazil, with his present employers understandably delighted to have secured his services until 2011. Since arriving in Milan in 2003 from Sao Paulo, Kaka has been a top performer for the Rossoneri and in Germany he has proven a match winner for his country already, netting the only goal in his country’s defeat of Croatia. Kaka already has a World Cup winners’ medal to his name from 2002 and he could well cap a fine campaign with another come July 9. Selecao Videos Today1. Download ALL 4 goals [Download]2. HELLO JAPAN

Match ReminderBrazil VS Japan21:00UKDortmundFOR?A KAKA, FOR?A BRASIL!!!!Read Match?Preview hereKaka in SportstarAsian Publication Sportstar has featured Kaka as their cover story, and once again they have an excellent article up written by N. U. Abilash. You can read some excerpts below:Importantly, unlike Rivaldo, Kaka is a manager’s dream. He is flexible enough to be incorporated into any formation and into a tactical system that believes in interchangeable positions within a given formation to catch markers off guard. In the matches against Croatia and Australia, he and Ronaldinho dug deep to help out their team’s defensive midfielders, Emerson and Ze Roberto, which hindered the duo combining in attacking roles. Unlike Rivaldo, Kaka does not attract the attention of the huge global media contingent that follows the Brazilian team. Part of this is because of the serene and stable persona that comes from his middle-class upbringing, which contrasts with the much-publicised night outs and carnival spirit of the `favela boys’. Kaka, like 1982 midfielder Socrates and his brother Rai who won the 1994 tournament, was a fully paid-up member of the aristocratic Sao Paolo club in his formative years. In comparison, Ronaldo could not make it in the first team of Flamengo, the biggest club of Rio, in his formative years because he could not afford the bus fares. Being middle-class in Brazil, a country of much greater economic inequality than India, virtually means access to a European style of living. Kaka’s world-view as a born-again-Christian, especially his conservative position to pre-marital sex, is an anachronistic divergence from those of his less-privileged teammates however much religious they are. 1 day to Japan VS Brasil…

Kaka to still play tomorrow?Brazil’s training session on Tuesday gave no hints on whether Coach Carlos Alberto Parreira would change his lineup for the team’s last group match against Japan on Thursday. Parreira had said earlier in the week he was considering fielding reserve players for the match in Dortmund to give some of the starters rest before the next round. Seeking a record sixth world title, Brazil advanced to the second round after beating Croatia, 1-0, in Berlin and Australia, 2-0, in Munich. Parreira said he would make a decision on the starting lineup only after talking to the medical staff and to the “physical department,” adding he wanted to see how the players were recuperating from the first two matches. Brazil’s starters didn’t seem to like the idea of giving up their spots. “I want to keep playing,” midfielder Kaka said. “I don’t want to lose any rhythm.” Parreira has said Ronaldo would probably start against Japan so he can continue to find a rhythm. “His case is different from the other players; he needs to be playing,” the coach said after Brazil’s match against Australia on Sunday. Ronaldo arrived for the World Cup overweight after a series of injuries earlier in the season. Comments on Zico..?It?s unfortunate to face Zico with Japan having to win,? Brazil captain Cafu said. ?But it?s part of the World Cup. … He?s just another adversary. It?s not Zico against Brazil or Brazil against Zico, it?s Brazil against Japan. That?s how we have to think.?  Brazil midfielder Kaka, who netted the winner in the 1-0 opening victory against Croatia, agreed. ?It?s just another coach,? he said. ?Especially because we have already faced him last year.?  Japan held Brazil to a 2-2 draw in last year?s Confederations Cup in Germany. A win would have sent the Japanese through to the semifinals of the competition, which was won by Brazil. Kaka speaks about the teamKak? spoke about Argentina’s performance in this World cup, saying that the number of goals does not really matter in the tournament. ?To score many goals doesn’t really matter. Brazil also qualified for the next round scoring only only two goals (against Australia)?, defended the Milan player. While Brazil were said to have ’suffered’ in their matches against Croatia and Australia, scoring only only three goals, the Argentinians had much to show when they when on a 6-0 goal spree against Serbia and Montenegro. They also beat Ivory Coast and are one of the new favorites in the competition.?We have that to remember that in the Confederations Cup last year, Brazil had several losses and still finished Champion?, Kak? said. (WORD!)Kaka also admitted that Brazil can find more ways in improving their game. ?It could be that we are taking less chances shooting to the net.I find that we can improve in this and risk more kicks?, said.”I find that whenever it is possible, we can try to shoot from further away and create a spectacle. But I find that objective soccer must be prioritized?, he said. ?I find that the attack is improving. The game against Australia was better (than their first) We create many chances. But we know that we need more time together and that teams arrives with a more definite identity in the next round”. Sup Kaka’s ears!.Milan issue a complain…Milan have made an official complaint to Fifa about an approach made for playmaker Kaka by Real Madrid presidential candidate Ramon Calderon. With the presidential elections at the Bernabeu just around the corner, the candidates have been doing their usual round of canvassing by promising to bring in specific players. “There is no possibility that Ramon Calderon could sign Kaka and transfer him to Madrid,” he told Marca. “We wrote to Carlos Sanchez Albornoz and to Fifa charging Calderon because he’s a member of Real’s board of directors and contacted Kaka as an electoral weapon. “Calderon is a member of Real, he’s a candidate to the presidency and he called one of our players through Predrag Mijatovic. “Kaka has a four-year deal with Milan and not just anyone can talk with him trying to sign him.” Twenty-four-year-old Kaka has been touted as a replacement for soon-to-be-retired legend Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu, and has done nothing but enhance his reputation at the World Cup in Germany. He stood out for the world champions in their opener against Croatia, scoring the only goal of the game in the vital 1-0 win, and Milan are anxious to retain his services for the coming season.Selecao Videos Today1.
