    Milan / Palermo & Vid

Milan-Palermo : ANOTHER GOALESS DRAWKaka failed to convert a first-half penalty as AC Milan were held to a goalless draw by Palermo at La Favorita on Wednesday. Palermo’s Alberto Fontana was at full stretch to save the Brazilian’s ninth-minute spot-kick after the goalkeeper had brought down Alberto Gilardino inside the area.Fontana remained heavily involved, making several fine saves from the ever-dangerous Kaka to deny the Rossoneri their fifth victory in a row. Luck was not on the Rossoneri’s side either with substitute Ronaldo also being denied by the crossbar 10 minutes from time. The outcome has left Milan still eight points behind third-placed Palermo and three behind Lazio with 12 games left to play.Lazio won 3-1 against Catania to stay in the last Champions League qualifying spot. Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti opted to play with Kaka in support of lone striker Gilardino, leaving Ronaldo on the bench. The Rossoneri controlled the game from the start and even Kaka’s penalty save did not hamper the visitors, who continued to push forward in search of a goal.Kaka’s right-footed strike in the 11th minute went wide of the far post, while shortly after, Roberto Guana did well to make a decisive tackle on the Brazilian midfielder, who was ready to fire on target.Palermo were quite happy to sit back and wait to hit their rivals on the counter-attack. On the half hour mark, Mark Bresciano’s 25-yard strike went inches wide of goalkeeper Nelson Dida and the post. At the other end, Fontana did well to come off his line to deny Kaka on yet another Milan counter-attack. Shortly after, Kaka chested down a ball inside the area but his left-footed shot proved an easy catch for Fontana.Milan continued to surge forward in the hope of breaking the deadlock before half-time but it was to no avail.Neither coach made any changes after the re-start as Francesco Guidolin’s men, who had failed to win in their last six encounters, showed more determination in the second half. David Di Michele should have put his team ahead in the 52nd minute but the striker’s close range effort from Aimo Diana’s pass went high over the crossbar. Shortly after, Di Michele’s volley at the far post went wide, much to Dida’s relief. In the 70th minute, Ancelotti made a double substitution with Ronaldo and Yohann Gourcuff replacing Gilardino and Clarence Seedorf. The Rossoneri were unlucky not to take the lead shortly after, with Ronaldo’s strike rebounding off the bar having beaten Fontana. Milan continued to press for a winner and Gourcuff almost snatched the spoils late on with his free-kick going inches over the crossbar as time ran out for the Rossoneri. Kaka, Ronaldinho & Adriano

Kaka : We want RonaldinhoMilan’s Brazilian international Kaka wants his side to make a bid for his international colleague Ronaldinho, if he decides to leave Barcelona. Kaka believes that Barcelona’s current slump may prompt Ronaldinho to look for a new challenge.”Teams live in cycles,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport. “I don’t know if Barcelona’s cycle will end this year, but it will happen soon.”For three seasons, they have been the best in Europe. They touched the top and not all of their players will wait for the cycle to restart.”(Paolo) Maldini at Milan did, but I don’t know if Ronaldinho will do the same at Barcelona. If he puts himself on the market, I hope Milan will sign him.”Kaka believes that Milan are a good outside bet for Champions League glory this season. “Would it be surprising for us to win it? Not for us and our supporters, but it might be abroad. We started badly in the Italian league, but we’re still a team with history and tradition.”Kaka on AdrianoKaka also spoke of Inter Milan’s Brazilian striker Adriano and his latest nightclub drama (For those who don’t know what Ricky’s referring to, [CLICK HERE])”I don’t know if my lifestyle choice is the right one or not,” said Kaka. “All I know is that I live my life in a certain way because I know my limits. “Adriano likes to enjoy himself. But he must recognise what helps him and what hurts him.”In football, if you are slapped with a label, it’s very difficult to get rid of it.” [.] THAT, my friends, is an example of a footballer that everyone should respect and look up to. [.] Some of you questioned the reliability of news sources in the previous post. Yes, what I do is to post the news and whether they’re rumors, speculation or real news is up to YOU to decide. Would you rather NO news on Kaka or some news?. Of course you’d want to read something about him. And yes, while “AS”, “Tribal Football”, etc may be bullshitting, at least they take the time out to write something about our favourite player. With that, you are free to choose what to believe and what not to. Go to the forum, comment, discuss. That’s what this site is for. Sources : Setanta Sports, Tribal Football

Kaka on Radio / Transfer talks

Kaka on Italian Radio : Tawny LonghiKaka spoke to Italian Radio stations yesterday and here’s what he said :”It’s a beautiful sight to see Ronnie (Ronaldo) as a contented and happy player, once again. I’m very happy for him because he was hardly positive or confident last year during the World Cup.”"Ronaldinho is a great champion, but in terms of transfer talks, I can’t say much as there are people who handle these type of things at Milan.”"In Glasgow, there were a lack of goals. It’s important for us to mark players, especially in the Champions League. For now, we must continue to mark the players who can make a difference, at San Siro. Inter Milan’s draw with Valencia and Barcelona’s loss have really surprised me!.”AC Milan must sell Kaka to land Barcelona star RonaldinhoAC Milan must sell Kaka and Alberto Gilardino if they’re to land Barcelona star Ronaldinho and Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon.Milan president Silvio Berlusconi declared on Sunday that both Ronaldinho and Buffon were on their summer shopping list, but it’s emerged today that their arrival can only happen if they raise funds by selling Kaka and Gilardino.Barcelona remain interested in Kaka, while Juventus are keen on Gilardino.Meanwhile, Ronaldinho’s brother and agent, Roberto de Assis, is due in Milan next week to meet with Berlusconi and Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani. [.] Don’t take transfer talks too seriously, I doubt Kaka will move now with his citizenship in place. SOURCE:TRIBALFOOTBALL

    Milan’s Weekend

Milan leave it lateMassimo Ambrosini scored in the last minute of the game to earn AC Milan all three points from a 1-0 win against Sampdoria in a game where both sides were reduced to 10 men. Massimo Oddo saw red for Milan when the game was just 10 minutes old, before numerical parity was restored when Ruben Olivera walked six minutes before the interval. And just as the game appeared to be heading for a stalemate, midfielder Ambrosini headed home to move Carlo Ancelotti’s side up to fifth in the hunt for a Champions League spot come the end of the season. But it could have been so different had Angelo Palombo’s shot from distance been only centimetres more accurate and it would have gone in instead of rebounding off a hapless Dida’s post. And had Sampdoria gone a goal up they would have fancied their chances of winning even more when Oddo was sent off for a professional foul. Ancelotti was forced to act, replacing striker Ricardo Oliveira with right-back Cafu, meaning Ronaldo, on his home debut for the Rossoneri, would have to plough a lone furrow in attackSergio Volpi’s free-kick flashed narrowly over Dida’s bar shortly after the substitution, while at the other end Kaka drew a fine save low down from Samp goalkeeper Luca Castellazzi. The superb technique shown in Christian Maggio’s overhead kick was matched by the agility of Dida as Samp went agonisingly close to opening the scoring. But they were deflated by the dismissal of Olivera for a second yellow card following a foul on Kaka as the half drew to a close.Emiliano Bonazzoli should have made Dario Simic pay for his mistake moments after the interval, but his shot was off-target. At the other end, Cafu served up a beautiful chance for Ambrosini, but he could not direct his header underneath Castellazzi’s crossbar. Dida was then called into action twice in quick succession. First, the Brazil number one fisted away Reto Ziegler’s dangerous centre, and then, having misjudged the on-loan Tottenham wing-back’s corner, recovered to palm aside Christian Zenoni’s resultant header. Ronaldo, who was no more than a peripheral figure throughout, would have had an easy chance to score after good work from Marek Jankulovski, but the former Internazionale striker was in an offside position.Castellazzi then made a vital interception from another Jankulovski burst as Milan pressed for the breakthrough. And it came, at last, in the 90th minute when Ambrosini beat Castellazzi with a header from Cafu’s cross.Post-match VideoComments ProblemOk, so comments from the previous posts got deleted, but you guys can continue to post new ones for upcoming news entries. Kaka has a Celtic fan

Celtic player is a Kaka fanAIDEN McGeady is a Kaka fan, which, to be fair, doesn’t exactly give him membership of an exclusive club. Truth is that, apart from the many millions around the planet who marvel at the Brazilian’s attacking virtuosity, there is a group of young professionals in the Celtic Park dressing-room who think the world of him. When the final whistle went in Glasgow on Tuesday night, McGeady went looking for his role model with a view to getting the number 22 shirt off his back. A mate had got there first, however. “One of our lads had asked him for it after half an hour so I had to make do with Andrea Pirlo’s,” he said. As McGeady admits, Pirlo is not a bad second prize but this image of the Irish winger being beaten to the chase for Kaka’s jersey hints at the youth that exists in this Celtic side. You can’t imagine Neil Lennon dashing over to Rino Gattuso all wide-eyed and looking for a swap, but plenty in the first team would still be boyish enough to go in search of souvenirs. Evander Sno, Mark Wilson, Stephen McManus, Darren O’Dea and McGeady would all be contenders. These were the five youngest players on the park on Tuesday. Overall, the 11 that started against Milan had an average age of fractionally over 25. Of the last 16 clubs in the Champions League only Porto fielded a younger team (only just) and, by a distance, Celtic had the youngest defence, with an average age of 23. To hold Milan goal-less with such a callow rearguard is an achievement worth noting. Kaka/Celtic/Pic

Kaka speaks about Milan’s future in Champions LeagueKaka has no doubt about the future of Milan after Tuesday night’s game at Celtic. “Milan does not have to fear any team. In the returning leg, I await a victory. We must mark their players well and win. We were not able to score a goal, which would’ve been ideal, but we hope to turn our thoughts to the leg at San Siro.”The Brazilian also spoke of his form : “I feel very well. In the last few games, I’ve done all I could, goal assists and other things. Against Celtic, I definitely have found my form. Ronaldo? Although he’s cup-tied, he is a great champion and he’s doing well like Milan, but up till now, we’ve been able to win without him”Training PicturesHere are some pictures from the Milan training ground, and one of Kaka receiving his Italian Citizenship. And many people have asked if he’ll still be playing for Brazil, and the answer is YES (P.S : Why on earth would he leave Brasil to play for other national teams?!!). Source : Goal.com

    Celtic – Milan

Celtic 0 AC Milan 0Celtic held AC Milan to an entertaining goalless draw at Parkhead to leave it all to play for in the second leg.Milan will now be favourites to take this Champions League last 16 tie, but there is no doubt that the Scottish side have given themselves a chance of an upset.Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink was passed fit shortly before the match and went close for the hosts in the early stages, nearly getting on the end of Shunsuke Nakamura’s free-kick at the back post.Kaka then forced Artur Boruc into a good save down low before Nakamura’s free-kick from just outside the area was well saved by Milan keeper Kalac at his near post.Gennaro Gattuso went close shortly after the break when he fired just wide of Boruc’s post, before Alberto Gilardino picked up an embarassing yellow card for diving in the box without another player in sight of him.Substitute Thomas Gravesen had a chance to steal the points for Celtic late on, but he fired just over the crossbar to leave Celtic with plenty to do in the second leg.[.] Photos have been added to the GALLERY.Kaka Post Match VideoHere’s a video of Ricky talking to Milan Channel after the match. Kaka speaks (Celtic-Milan)Kaka’s bright performance mentioned in media[1.]The Herald’s Hugh Macdonald has given an interesting insight into Kaka’s mid-fielding abilities in contrast to Celtic’s Neil Lennon after yesterday’s encounter Here’s an excerpt :Kaka and Milan were seeking inspiration. The Brazilian found it. Another of his precision passes found an onrushing Gennaro Gattuso, who repaid the maestro with the dull currency of rash, wayward finishing.Kaka’s worth is as visible as a Faberge egg on top of a dung heap. But Celtic’s midfield shone brightly, too. Sno and Lennon never looked likely to abandon the stage to Kaka or the redoubtable Andrea Pirlo. Kaka/Celtic

Kaka wants his own Champions League ‘Wondergoal’MILAN star Kaka last night vowed to eclipse Celtic star Shunsuke Nakamura by hitting the wonder goal of this season’s Champions League. The Brazilian revealed he’s on a mission to outshine Nakamura’s stunning strike against Manchester United at Parkhead that secured Gordon Strachan’s side a last-16 berth.Kaka is renowned for his own striking expertise having produced a moment of magic in the earlier stages of Europe’s elite tournament to sink battling Belgian cracks Anderlecht. Now he is aiming to grab the limelight when Milan face the Hoops in Glasgow tonight in their first-leg clash. Kaka said: “This is certainly a very interesting ace up their sleeve now they have Nakamura and his free-kicks.”A Brazilian journalist has taunted me by saying Nakamura’s free-kick against United will make people scratch their head when trying to decide the best goal of the Champions League so far.”Before that there was my strike against Anderlecht. I saw Nakamura’s goal and was really impressed by how he hit the ball so well, let alone the fact the goal was so important to Celtic’s campaign.”Having said that, I’d love to score the most beautiful goal of this year’s competition.” [Click 'Read More' to see the rest of the article, which is a more detailed version of Ricky's 'UEFA Diary']PredictionsWhat are your predictions for Celtic VS Milan later?. More Kaka/Siena, Pictures & Quotes

Kaka Confirms Milan Stay Kaka failed to score against Siena on Saturday during Milan’s roller-coaster 4-3 win over the Bianconeri, however the Brazilian international produced a high quality assist for Ronaldo’s second goal of the match. The Milan defence has been under fire in recent weeks, especially after those three goals suffered against the Tuscan club, but Kaka believes that the blame should be shared by the entire squad and not just by the rear-guard.”We cannot talk just about the defence, but about the entire squad which must learn to defend better. We cannot concede goals like we did against Siena.”With regards to the transfer speculations of the past days, which according to the Spanish press he is close to a Real Madrid move, Kaka declared his love for the Milan colours and his will to remain at the club for as long as possible.”I’m fine here, therefore I hope to keep on playing for Milan,” stated Kaka. Kaka praises Ronaldo….”Ronaldo brought a little quality to our squad. I say it’s a little because Milan always had quality. He is a very important player that can decide the outcome of a game, as shown yesterday. Ronaldo is an important player, and will continue to be throughout the season” – Kaka speaking to Italian journalists after Milan’s Serie-A match against Siena. Mijatovic: Real Madrid convinced we had Kaka signedReal Madrid sports chief Pedja Mijatovic has again admitted AC Milan ace Kaka remains a transfer target.Mijatovic said last night: “Kaka is a very interesting player for any important team. This summer we had contact and I thought that he would end up here. He continues being an objective, but there are also many other interesting players.”In recent times we have not spoken of Kaka with Milan.” [.]Also, the gallery has updated pictures of the Siena Match and all Kaka’s recent Armani pictures.
