    MILAN – MANCHESTER (May 2)

AC MILAN VSMANCHESTER UNITED KAK? ‘It will be difficult, but we can do it. ?We can beat Manchester United if we play like we did in the first half at the Old Trafford – with character, personality and confidence. It?s too bad that we were lacking this in the second half. We were a bit frightened and that hurt us.? The Brazilian champion is having an incredible season and as far as the Golden Ball goes he said: ?I am not thinking about it. Milan come before everything else.’GATUSSO?I am thinking that if Kak? is as devastating as he was at the Old Trafford, then we will win. We know that it will be tough, but that?s pretty normal for a Champions League semi-final. All of the Rossoneri fans should be should be proud because if we make it to the final it would be a real miracle. No one expected it.?RONALDORonie spoke about his friend and compatriot Kak?: ‘Ricky is an incredibile player, he is strong and fast, of course he is skillful and always looks to shot. There is no risk of him leaving Milan, he is fine here. Who is better, him or Cristiano Ronaldo? I would always take Kak?, Cristiano has some great tricks but Ricky is decisive and has an eye for goal like few others.’Ronie defended his best friend Nelson Dida: ‘Anyone can make mistakes. I don’t understand why it is possible to criticise Nelson, it’s impossible for me because he is the most professional player I have ever seen, He’s always first to arrive and last to leave training. In any case, he is relaxed and feeling good as he will show.’Source: acmilan.com

    More Kaka News!

Kaka is better than Ronaldo – ShevchenkoChelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko believes AC Milan’s Kaka is the best player in the world ahead of Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo. Shevchenko played with 25-year-old Kaka at Milan before joining the Premiership champions last summer. When asked, in an interview in La Gazzetta dello Sport, to choose between Brazil international Kaka and Portugal’s Ronaldo, Shevchenko did not hesitate.’Kaka is the strongest player in the world,’ said the 30-year-old Ukrainian. ‘He deserves the Ballon D’Or (European player of the year award) and I’m certain he will get it, if not this time maybe in the not-too-distant future.’Shevchenko believes his former team still have the upper hand in the race to reach the Champions League final despite losing 3-2 at Old Trafford in Tuesday’s semi-final first-leg against United.’At Manchester, Milan played exceptional football in the first half and were hindered with the injuries to Gennaro Gattuso and Paolo Maldini,’ he said.’Milan are a likeable team because they always play beautiful games.’They play open football and in the Champions League they have played better. There is a respect for their top players and for the club.’Milan have what it takes to progress to the final.’Shevchenko admits that meeting Milan in the final in Athens would be in some ways an ordeal for him.’I still don’t want to think about it,’ he said. ‘There are still games to play before the final.’Of course, for me it would be a thrilling evening and complicated, because Milan is not my former team but a family, a part of my life.’Barcelona confident trumping Real Madrid for AC Milan’s KakaBarcelona and Real Madrid will both make offers for AC Milan ace Kaka at the end of this season.La Repubblica says Kaka’s performance against Manchester United convinced Barca’s board to compete with Real for the Brazilian. Joan Laporta, the Barca president, knows that Ronaldinho’s brother and agent, Roberto de Assis, is maintaining contact with AC Milan and sees Kaka as the man to replace him.Laporta also knows he has an advantage on Real as he can demand Kaka in a deal for Ronaldinho, so thwarting their great rivals. It’s also suggested Laporta would be prepared to include Samuel Eto’o in the mega deal. For Real, they already have an offer on the table for Kaka – which has been approved by Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani. Fabio Cannavaro, Robinho and Mahamadou Diarra would go in exchange for Kaka, which was the deal discussed in January as Galliani finalised Ronaldo’s signing. United – Milan

United may have beat Milan 3-2 in the first leg of yesterday night’s Champions League semi-final clash… but all ears and eyes are on our man, Kaka. With 8 phenomenal goals, some say he is the current best player in the world . And he added 2 more to his tally yesterday. (READ MATCH REPORT HERE) Kaka wins “Man of the Match” Kaka has won MAN OF THE MATCH after his stunning 2 goals against United last night. Now we have to win but we’ve got the advantage of playing at home.”We will have to play like United did against us. We will have to show we’ve got great personality and enormous energy because we face a real battle.” Milan defender Massimo Oddo rued his side’s failure to convert a couple of chances early in the second half. “We were stupid. We played a great first half and their second goal was fine but then we missed several opportunities to make it 3-1,” he said. Milan may be without two important players in the return leg. A recurrence of an old knee injury forced captain Paolo Maldini to sit out the second half at United while midfielder Gennaro Gattuso limped off in the 53rd minute with a sore foot.” The knee swelled up and the pain became unbearable. It will be difficult to recover for the return leg,” said Maldini.”It will be a difficult match for Milan. We didn’t deserve to lose at Old Trafford but the English side put in a fantastic performance. They fought right to the limit and showed great self-belief. We will have to follow their example.” SOURCES : Reuters, Goal.com

Manchester – Milan (UCL Semifinal, Tuesday 24)

MANCHESTER UNITED VSAC MILAN MILAN SQUAD: GOALKEEPERS: Dida, Kalac, Fiori, Storari. DEFENDERS: Bonera, Cafu, Costacurta, Favalli, Jankulovski, Kaladze, Maldini, Nesta, Oddo, Serginho, Simic. MIDFIELDERS: Ambrosini, Brocchi, Gattuso, Gourcuff, Kak?, Pirlo, Seedorf. STRIKERS: Gilardino, Inzaghi, R. Oliveira.CARLO ANCELOTTI ?There is an overwhelming joy right now about being able to play in this type of game. We are feeling good and are certain that we can do well. There isn?t any worry, just a great respect for the team that we are going to go play. Certainly, the adrenaline will increase before the game but at the moment we are totally relaxed. ?I think that everything will be decided at the San Siro. I don?t see the game at the Old Trafford as being more important than the return leg. We are going there under ideal conditions, calm and confident. They have had some problems, but anything can be solved in a game like this with just a bit more determination and focus. Will Paolo Maldini mark Ronaldo? The Portuguese moves from left to right and instead Paolo plays in the centre. In regards to their absences, Ferdinand?s will give us a small advantage. We, on the other hand, hope to recover Nelson Dida. He trained yesterday and we will try again tonight. However, if he doesn?t feel at 100% then he definitely must feel to be at least 99%! ?Would I swap Inter?s Italian League title for the Champions League semi-final? The semi-final is what came our way and we will take it happy to be able to play in such an important game. Then, naturally we also hope to qualify for the final.?For more information:Carlo Ancelotti and Paolo Maldini press conference Paolo Maldini on UEFA.com Ryan Giggs singled out Kak? and Seedorf as AC Milan’s greatest threats

Ascoli-Milan, worrying news, and Gatusso about the Champions League and Serie A.

ASCOLI – MILAN (Wednesday 18) FINAL SCORE: 2 – 5Goals: Gilardino (3′, 27′), Kak? (25′ pen., 35′), Seedorf (‘75)WORRYING NEWSKeeper Nelson Dida injured his right shoulder again. Dida did not train today. He was seen by a specialist who confirmed the problem. Dida will rest for the next 48 hours and then the situation will be further evaluated.Alessandro Nesta incurred a minor injury to his left hand during today?s training, but scans have cleared possibility of bone lesions or muscular- tendinous.(Two of the best Milan players against Bayern maybe will not play in Old Trafford. Very bad news.)GATUSSO SAID:?As far as I am concerned the Champions League is worth as much as three or four league titles. This doesn?t mean that Inter?s title is less valuable. I don?t want to cause any controversies, but I think that it would be reductive to say that winning the Italian League title is more difficult than conquering the Champions League. You can see that Mancini and I have different opinions. I have always heard it said that the Champions League is the more difficult and important competition.?

Milan’s season has changed a lot.”The Brazilian midfielder added: “On Tuesday, I had said that a lot of hard work was exactly what we needed and that is just the way it went.”Now, we are two games away from another historic event.
