Kaka Keeping Options OpenMilan star Kaka has refused to rule out a move to Real Madrid. The playmaker has been consistently linked with a transfer to the Bernabau with Real making little secret of their interest in the Brazilian. Milan, the current UEFA Champions League champions, spent most of the close season turning down Real’s advances for Kaka. However, reports have now suggested that Real are prepared to renew their approach for the 25-year-old.Real president Ramon Calderon, is thought to be lining up a fresh bid for Kaka in the January transfer window as the La Liga champions bid to defend their title.Milan club president Silvio Berlusconi, however, has said that the Serie A giants would do their best to prevent their star asset from leaving.Kaka, though, has not ruled out a move to Italy in the wake of the fresh speculation. “I have a contract with Milan until 2011, I am not in a hurry to renew it and neither are Milan,” Kaka told Italian media. “[Calderon] must talk with Berlusconi. If they find an agreement, OK, otherwise I stay here.”Kaka has also hinted that his Brazilian compatriot and current Barcelona ace Ronaldinho could be interested in a move to Milan.”Everytime we meet up with the national team, Ronaldinho asks me about Milan, the team and the club,” added Kaka.I don’t know if he can come. Certainly he has feelings for us.”SOURCE : Sportinglife AC Milan Brazilian star Ricardo Kaka’, and midfielder Massimo Ambrosini play during the presentation of a soccer videogame, in Milan, Italy, Friday, Oct. 26, 2007
Winning Is More Important Than Me Scoring, Says Kaka The Brazilian produced an incredible performance on Wednesday evening against Shakhtar Donetsk, but failed to put his name on the score sheet after missing many good opportunities. All that Kaka needed to receive 10 out of 10 for his game against the Ukrainian Champions was to score at least one goal, but the Brazilian failed to convert all the opportunities that were handed to him by the ‘amateurish’ Shakhtar defence.Still, for the probable Golden Ball winner, what is important is that the team wins and moves closer to the qualification to the next round of the Champions League.”As an attacker I must still learn some things…tonight I could have scored some goals, but what interests me is that the team won,” commented Kaka at the end of the game.”Right now we must just find continuity,” he continued. “In the league we cannot manage to do what we want like in the Champions League. I don’t think it’s a psychological factor, it’s more a matter of spaces.”With regards to the Golden Ball, he believes that Cristiano Ronaldo will be his main challenger.”I think that the award will be given to whoever won something during the year. Cristiano Ronaldo played a great season in England and helped Manchester win. He is the first competitor, then there are Messi and my other team mates at Milan.”Ancelotti grateful to Kaka after AC Milan victoryCarlo Ancelotti admits Champions League football suits his AC Milan team more than Serie A after their dismantling of Shakhtar Donetsk last night.Milan thumped Shakhtar 4-1 to go top of their group and Ancelotti said: “Everything has not been resolved and we will probably run into certain problems again in the future.”We have difficulties in certain games. In Europe there are more open teams and we can make the most of the characteristics of our players.”Ancelotti was full of praise for Kaka, who missed Saturday’s home defeat by Empoli. “Kaka did everything and more. He made a lot of mistakes in front of goal, but he was devastating when going forward at pace.”Everything is so much easier with Kaka. The Ballon d’Or? He certainly did not need confirmation tonight for that award, he has already done more than enough to deserve it and will continue to impress.”Alberto Gilardino was the surprise pick upfront instead of Champions League specialist Filippo Inzaghi, but rewarded Ancelotti with an early brace of headers.”Today Kaka had great help upfront, as Gilardino aided him in holding up the ball and scored two goals.”Only this week General Manager Adriano Galliani had complained that Milan did not have any strikers who were good in the air, but Gilardino netted two headers this evening.”That’s the great thing about football – you are immediately proved wrong at every turn!” grinned Ancelotti. End of the world if Kaka doesn’t win Ballon d’Or: GallianiAC Milan chief Adriano Galliani claimed Sunday that the club’s Brazilian playmaker Kaka deserves to be named world player of the year.Kaka has already received one award this season for being the best player during last season’s Champions League, where AC Milan emerged victorious. And now he is the big favourite to be awarded the Ballon d’Or in Paris on December 2.”I don’t think there’s any doubt given what he’s done and what he’s doing. I can’t see anyone else beating him to the trophy,” Galliani told Sky Sport just before Sunday’s match against Empoli.Kaka was not among Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the game as he is being rested for the midweek Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk.”He’s won the Champions League, (he was) the top scorer in the competition. Overall, he’s the best player. If he doesn’t win it’s the end of the world, footballistically speaking,” added Galliani.Kaka is one of 50 players nominated for the award that is voted for by a panel of 96 international journalists and organised by France Football magazine. His team-mates at AC Milan Genaro Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo, Clarence Seedorf, Paolo Maldini and Filippo Inzaghi have all also been nominated.”That gives me a lot of pleasure,” said Galliani of the number of Milan players nominated. “It shows that the quality of Milan’s players is reknown throughout the world. We are the most European team and I’m delighted and proud.”SOURCE : AFP
Cafu: Kaka Is Number One Veteran Milan wing-back Cafu has labelled his Milan teammate Kaka as the best player in the world and says that he deserves to win this year’s Ballon d’Or.Kaka has had a sensational past 12 months and was Milan’s key man in their march towards Champions League glory last May. The 25-year-old is the hot favourite to win the prestigious Golden Ball and Cafu believes he is the only candidate. “At this current moment there can be no doubt that Kaka is the best,” said the 37-year-old star. “He is a player who has matured so much and consistently demonstrates his brilliance. I consider him to be the number one and he deserves to win the Ballon d’Or.” Cafu is currently in his tenth season in Serie A, having first moved to Roma in 1997 from Palmeiras. He switched to Milan in 2003 and admits he is not sure where his future lies. “Milan have a squad full of experience and I do not know what lies ahead for me in the future,” said the two-time World Cup winner. “I will decide at the end of the season what to do next. If I don’t stay at Milan, I could even decide to go to Japan or another country, or maybe even stay in Italy. I do not believe I will retire though.”Shevchenko: Kaka Is The Best Chelsea striker Andrei Shevchenko has lavished praise on Milan superstar Kaka and says that there is no one better than him in world football, not even Francesco Totti or Zlatan Ibrahimovic.Shevchenko was team-mates with Kaka at Milan, before the Ukrainian signed for Chelsea last summer. While Sheva’s career has gone downhill since moving to England, the Brazilian’s has got better and better, and after a stunning Champions League campaign last year, he is the hot favourite to win the 2007 Ballon d’Or. “Are Ibrahimovic and Totti more decisive than Kaka? That is impossible,” Shevchenko told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “There is no one in the world who is more decisive than Kaka. Totti is a champion and is decisive for Roma but unfortunately the team he plays for has never reached the final of the Champions League. “Ibra is playing magnificently and will have plenty of time to win whatever he wants, but he too has not played in the Champions League final. To play well just in the league is not enough. “We are talking about some great players but at this moment no one deserves the Ballon d’Or more than Kaka.”SOURCE : Goal.com
BFFS!Brazil 5 Ecuador 0Brazil kickstarted their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 5-0 rout of Ecuador in the Maracana on Wednesday night as AC Milan star Kaka scored twice. After a goalless draw with Colombia in their opening South American qualifier, the five-time champions left it late before turning on the style before 80,000 fans in the famous stadium in Rio de Janeiro which had not been used for an international in seven years.Vagner Love put Brazil ahead in the 19th minute, but Brazil had to wait until the 72nd minute to extend their advantage as Barcelona ace Ronaldinho cleverly deflected a long range effort from Kaka. With Ecuador, who lost their opening match to Venezuela reeling, it was Kaka who scored a fine individual third goal from distance.Manchester City’s Elano demonstrated his great skill as he converted after fine work by Robinho. Kaka rounded off the scoring courtesy of a bad error by visiting goalkeeper Daniel Viteri. The result sees Brazil assume second place in the South American qualifying group behind arch-rivals Argentina who have started with two victories.Pictures & Videos Video of all 5 goalsDownload Kaka’s first goal here and second goal here.Kaka: This is a dream Brazil star Kaka has described playing in the famous Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro as “like a dream”.The midfielder was speaking after he scored two goals as Brazil cruised to a 5-0 win over Ecuador. Kaka also praised the Brazilian fans for their support after the team had stuttered to a 0-0 draw with Colombia in their previous match. The AC Milan superstar said: “This is my first experience with the national team at the Maracana and this is a dream. It has been a fantastic night. “The stadium was totally full and the fans gave us their support all the time, even in the first half when we weren’t playing very well. “All the apologies that we gave to the supporters after the 0-0 draw against Colombia have been confirmed with this victory over Ecuador.”In normal conditions Brazil can play against any team. This is a dream because it is what we were all waiting for.” SOURCES : ITV, CNN
Alberto Parreira: Kaka Is Number One South Africa Coach Carlos Alberto Parreira has declared that Kaka is the best player in the world and deserves to win this year’s Ballon d’Or.The Milan superstar has enjoyed a magnificent past 12 months, leading the Rossoneri to Champions League glory after some quite sensational performances. The 25-year-old is regarded by many to be the best player on the planet currently and he is the hot favourite to be crowned European Footballer of the Year “He is the number one and deserves the Golden Ball, “ said Parreira. “Right now he is the best player in the world. “When I spoke with him, I found him very happy to be in Milan, where he found his fame and has built his family. I doubt very much that he wants to leave and I would suggest him not to do so.” Kaka has been continually linked with a move away from San Siro, with Chelsea, and Real Madrid in particular, mooted as possible destinations. Reports in the English press recently have claimed that Chelsea Chairman Roman Abramovich would be prepared to pay a staggering £100m top bring the Selecao star to Stamford Bridge. Oddo: Kaka And Pirlo Both Deserve Golden Ball Milan defender Massimo Oddo says that both Kaka and Andrea Pirlo are worthy winners of the Ballon d’Or and that he has no favourite between the two.Brazilian superstar Kaka is the hot favourite for this year’s award after a stunning past 12 months but he is expected to face competition from the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Milan team-mate Andrea Pirlo.Pirlo was not originally considered as a serious contender. However a magnificent first month to the current season, during which he produced a dominant performance for Italy against France last month, has put him in the frame.”Who deserves to win it out of Kaka and Pirlo? They both deserve it just as much,” said Oddo. “Pirlo and Kaka are two great champions. “They are team-mates in the same team, they interpret different roles and have different attributes, however they both are worthy of winning the Golden Ball.”Both players deserve to win. In the Rossoneri changing-room everyone is equal and it makes no difference who wins the award out of the two of them.”Oddo, Kaka and Pirlo should all be in Serie A action this weekend as Milan face Empoli at San Siro.SOURCES : Reuters, AP, Goal.com

Brazil holds Colombia to a 0-0 draw BOGOTA, Colombia – Brazil escaped with a 0-0 away draw Sunday against an aggressive Colombia in a World Cup qualifier.Brazil stars Kaka, Ronaldinho and Robinho were eclipsed by Colombia’s Radamel Falcao Garcia, Aquivaldo Mosquera and Carlos Alberto Sanchez. While Colombia dominated the pitch, the Brazilians at times seemed listless, a possible consequence of Bogota’s 2,600-meter altitude and a wet pitch. The match didn’t disappoint in drama or excitement despite the scoreline. Colombia coach Jorge Luis Pinto was expelled from Bogota’s El Campin stadium 15 minutes in to the game for protesting a referee’s decision not to award a penalty to Wason Renteria. The match was delayed for 45 minutes due to heavy October rain, which drenched the pitch. Colombia is eager to overturn an awful recent record in the World Cup and reach South Africa in 2010. The Andean nation failed to qualify for the past two World Cups.Brazil will next host Ecuador on Wednesday, when Colombia will travel to Bolivia.CANDID PICTURES!Here’s a selection of rather amusing Kaka pics for your perusal. It’s from his recent Brazil training sessions and interviews with members of the media. Enjoy!
