Kenyon says move for Kaka is unlikely

Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has refuted claims from AC Milan the Blues have tabled a ‘conspicuous offer’ for midfielder Kaka and insists a move for the Brazilian playmaker is unlikely.Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani was reported in the Italian press over the weekend confirming the Rossoneri had rejected a mega bid from Chelsea, while Kaka’s representative fuelled speculation by claiming the 26-year-old would be interested in a move to Stamford Bridge.’It’s true that Chelsea made a conspicuous offer, but I will not say how much it was,’ Galliani is reported to have told the Italian press.’It is equally true that we said no. President Silvio Berlusconi rejected the chance to sell Kaka, just as he told Real Madrid no in 2001 for Andriy Shevchenko.’But shortly after arriving in China ahead of Chelsea’s meeting with Chinese Super League outfit Guangzhou Pharmaceutical on Wednesday, Kenyon denied any knowledge of the offer.’There was no offer made. I have read the same articles,’ Kenyon said.’They have made it clear that he is not for sale and we will make it clear we have not made an offer.’There is no reason to negotiate over something they don’t want to do and we have not made an offer.’Milan communications director Vittorio Mentana also reiterated ‘Kaka is absolutely not for sale’.SOURCE : ESPN Soccernet I think Kaka’s agent was wrongly misquoted in the previous article and Skysports got over-excited and decided to print it.

    Kaka keen on Blues switch

World Player of the Year would welcome move to Chelsea. Kaka’s advisor, Diogo Kotscho, insists that the Brazilian playmaker is desperate to join Chelsea. The Milan forward has long been touted as a potential summer transfer target for the Blues, with reports now suggesting that discussions have taken place between the two clubs in regards to a possible ?£80million switch. In the past the 26-year-old was seen as being an unobtainable object of desire, with the Rossoneri unwilling to part company with a player who provides their greatest creative influence. However, with Kaka’s international team-mate Ronaldinho having now been unveiled at San Siro, and with their financial difficulties well-publicised, the Italian giants appear willing to enter into negotiations with any potential suitors.Should the World Player of the Year secure a move to Stamford Bridge he would be reunited with Luiz Felipe Scolari, the man who handed him his international debut as a 20-year-old back in 2002 and included him a Brazil squad which went on to lift the World Cup later that year.Any deal seems certain to break the world record transfer fee, which currently stands at ?£46million, but Kotscho is confident that an agreement can be reached which will allow Kaka to take on a new challenge in the Premier League next season.Team building“Real Madrid offered 90 million euros (?£71million) last summer and Milan did not even think about the bid,” Kaka’s personal assistant told The Guardian.”This time is different. This is the first time we feel that a deal will definitely happen.“Because of the situation Milan are in at the moment, the deal is good for all parties involved – Kaka’s Agent”.“The move would represent a significant increase in Kaka’s salary, on top of the 10 per cent transfer fee that goes straight to the player anyway – some 15 million euros (?£12million).”Chelsea are the club to be at right now. They are building a team to win everything.” SOURCE : skysports.com

Milan claim victory in Ronaldinho race

AC Milan revealed they have reached an agreement in principle on a three-year deal for Ronaldinho. The Serie A club made the announcement on their official website following a day of talks between Barca president Joan Laporta and Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani in the Catalan capital. The financial terms of the agreement have not been revealed but City’s interest almost certainly pushed up the final fee.Transfer talks between Barca and Milan reportedly stalled earlier this week, with the Italian club only willing to pay ?£11.9million plus up to around ?£4million in add-ons – ?£7.9million less than Barca were demanding. But the Rossoneri are understood to have increased their bid by around ?£4million after City were reportedly waiting with a bid of ?£27.8million.The Italian club confirmed that the formal completion of the deal now hinged only on the Brazil international successfully completing a medical.”AC Milan and FC Barcelona have reached a principle agreement for the transfer of Ronaldinho to the Rossoneri,” read a short statement on http://www.acmilan.com on Tuesday.”The player will be in Milan tomorrow (Wednesday) to undergo the medical examinations and sign the contract that will bind to Milan until June 30, 2011.”Milan will hope tomorrow’s medical passes without a hitch as they are thought to be determined to unveil Ronaldinho on the same day their squad begins pre-season training. Kaka Tips Ronaldo As World’s Best

Current World Player of the Year, AC Milan’s Kaka, has confessed that he believes Cristiano Ronaldo has now replaced him as the world’s best player.Kaka, who won both the Ballon d’Or and the FIFA World Player of the Year Awards in 2007, has tipped the Manchester United winger to replace him as the world’s best player after the Portuguese star helped his side to a Premier League and Champions League double.Ronaldo enjoyed a remarkable season last time out scoring 42 goals in all competitions and picking up the PFA Player of the Year Award. Now, the Brazilian Kaka has revealed he thinks Ronaldo will replace him as the world’s best player. Speaking to the media, he said: “I believe that the number one candidate is still Cristiano Ronaldo, above all for what he did and won in the Champions League with Manchester United.”Ronaldo scored the opening goal in the Champions League final against Chelsea and although the Blues equalised and the game ended level, Manchester United triumphed on penalties.Whilst Ronaldo came third in the 2007 poll behind Kaka and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Kaka confessed that he doesn’t expect to top the lists again this year. AC Milan suffered a disappointing campaign in Serie A last season finishing fourth but a massive 36 points behind champions and city neighbours Inter.Despite this, Kaka revealed he was looking forward to the new season and a chance to improve on last season’s poor league form.“For me there’s still half a season, so we’ll see,” said Kaka before adding, “It will be a different season with lots of new inspirations.”SOURCE : Goal.com

Kaka Refutes Claim He Asked for Brazil Omission

Kaka has rubbished claims from AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi that he asked to be omitted from Brazil’s team to compete at next month’s Olympic Games.Kaka was selected as one of three overage players for the tournament, but coach Dunga was forced to exclude the midfielder from his 18-man squad after Milan refused to release him.Newspaper Globo subsequently quoted Berlusconi, who is in Tokyo taking part of a meeting of the G8, as saying it was Kaka who requested he be stood down from the team, citing tiredness as the reason for his absence. However, Kaka has refuted that claim, saying: “I keep my will to represent the Brazilian national team in the 2008 Olympic Games.”The veto officially came from AC Milan, in the figure of the club president Adriano Galliani, and it was published on the club’s official website.”I have never talked to prime minister Silvio Berlusconi about football matters. Rather I have always respected the decisions by AC Milan president Adriano Galliani.”SOURCE : FOUR FOUR TWO

    July 11 Updates

Pato – We Could Use Kak? in BeijingBrazil’s 18-year-old starlet wishes his idol and AC Milan team-mate, Ricardo Kak?, were traveling to Beijing with him to participate in the Olympic Games.Brazilian youngster Alexandre Pato, who joined AC Milan in January from SC Internacional for €22million, has spoke about Brazil’s national coach Carlos Dunga and his Olympic mission one month before the games get under way.“Those who criticize Dunga don’t know what a great manager he is,” he said. “At the moment, however, I am entirely focused on the Olympics – it’s the dream of every player.”Pato expressed delight over the presence of Ronaldinho in Brazil’s Olympic squad, but wishes Kak? were there too: “This experience will be all the more special for me because I will play alongside Ronaldinho. Kak?? He would have been important for Brazil. He wasn’t able to come because of his age and because Milan wasn’t obligated to let him come.”Brazil will compete in the competition’s Group C against hosts China, New Zealand and Belgium.Scolari plays down reports on record bid for KakaLuiz Felipe Scolari on Tuesday played down reports linking Chelsea with a world record transfer bid for AC Milan star Kaka. Scolari is reported to have told Chelsea to make the Brazil playmaker the club’s top transfer target after taking charge at Stamford Bridge. The former Brazil coach gave Kaka his national team debut and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is a confirmed admirer of the player, leading to suggestions he was ready to make an offer of over £50mil (US$98.5mil).But Scolari was quick to distance himself from Kaka or any of the other big names, including Ronaldinho and Liverpool striker Fernando Torres, who have also been linked with the Blues. For Scolari it is the time of year when every Tom, Dick and Harry ? or Kaka, Pedro and Paolo in his case ? is mooted to be a target for big clubs. “Everyone knows it is time for speculation. It could be Kaka, Ambroso, Pedro or Paolo! Now is the time for that,” he said.Scolari prizes teamwork above individual talent and insists he will make it clear which players he wants to fit into that ethos, even if the final financial verdict will be given by Abramovich.Kaka Distances Himself From ChelseaMilan magician Kaka admits that he only knew about Chelsea’s interest in him by reading it on the internet and he reveals he is not keen in moving to London. The West London club were interested in making a bid for the Brazilian and they had approached Milan. However, Adriano Galliani was quick to pour water over the fire and he told Chelsea that Kaka was not for sale. The World player of the year has now given his view on the affair and he doesnt seem keen on Chelsea’s interest. “Of course I knew about Chelsea’s offer, I found out when I was surfing the net,” Kaka told La Gazzetta Dello Sport. (LOL, HE WAS TOTALLY ON KAKAFANS.NET EH)“As for our transfer campaign, I am sure things will get underway soon.” “You never know what can happen in future, I may have enough of Milan one day and they might have enough of me but for the moment I am happy here and I love Italy. “I think the club needs to renew. I have told the directors and we need to find the right mix in terms of youth and experience in order to get back to our strengths.” Kaka is on holiday in Brazil but he will be looking to return pretty soon in order to steer Milan to Scudetto glory next term. The Rossoneri have the UEFA Cup and the Serie A title on their agenda but they will need to bring in some further reinforcements if they are to challenge for major honours.
