MILAN DEFEAT MADRID & KAKA SPEAKS UP

Kaka believes that Real Madrid blew the chance to record a memorable victory against Milan because they lost control.

The playmaker was hoping to help the Spanish giants defeat his former club in the Champions League, but a mistake from Iker Casillas and a late Alexandre Pato strike saw the Italians claim all three points.

“We were at our worst when we conceded Pato’s [second] goal. We didn’t know how to control the situation and several details ended up making all the difference.

“We had chances to score more goals; Marcelo had a powerful shot, I forced Dida to make a save, but [Andrea] Pirlo’s strike surprised everybody.

“It was a trademark shot of his. The Champions League ball curves a lot and Iker failed to read its trajectory accurately.

“Milan grew confident. They are always dangerous because they have excellent players. We should have controlled the game then; we needed to stay calm, especially against such a strong side. We focused on attacking in the final minutes and left open spaces. They did too, so anyone could have scored.

“They did so through a great ball from [Clarence] Seedorf that was finished off by Pato. All that’s left for us to do is to continue to improve and to win in Milan.”
